Snooze You Lose?
As the snooze button on alarm clocks celebrates its 50th anniversary, sleepers and sleep researchers alike question whether the snooze button helps or hinders healthy sleep. Edward Stepanski, sleep researcher at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago says that an hour of fragmented sleep provides no more than 15 minutes of restorative sleep. The moral? Use the snooze button with care.
