Sleep Helps the Brain Find Its Way

A new study by researchers at the University of California and Stanford University finds that sleep deprivation prevents individuals from retaining spatial memory, for example, remembering how to get to a particular destination. The study of rats showed that sleep deprived rats had a difficult time remembering their way through a maze, while sleep helped the rats to perform better and generate new brain cells.
